Central Missouri Mules fall to No.5 Pittsburg State in home football finale

The University of Central Missouri Mules Football team lost its final home game of the 2025 season to Pittsburg State University, ranked No. 5 nationally, with a score of 48-35. The game took place on Saturday, November 8, at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Both teams were tied at halftime with a score of 14-14. In the third quarter, Pittsburg State outscored Central Missouri by 21-7, creating a lead that they maintained for the rest of the game.

Central Missouri quarterback Donovyn Omolo completed 39 passes out of 52 attempts for a total of 366 yards and three passing touchdowns. He also rushed for 88 yards on 18 carries and scored a rushing touchdown from 17 yards out. Wide receiver Hogan Wasson contributed with 153 receiving yards on 15 catches and one touchdown. Additional touchdowns came from running back LaAngelo Bell and wide receivers Jake Weber and Aazeryan Voss.

On defense, Trey Patrick recorded eight tackles, forced two fumbles, and recovered one fumble. Drew Kaufman also had eight tackles while Kendal Harmon recovered another fumble.

Despite the loss, Central Missouri gained more total offensive yards than Pittsburg State (529 to 501), led in passing yards (378 to 296), first downs (31 to 22), and time of possession (35:19 compared to Pittsburg State's 24:41). However, Pittsburg State excelled in rushing with a total of 205 yards compared to Central Missouri's 151.

Pittsburg State quarterback Jackson Berry completed 14 out of his 22 pass attempts for a total of 296 yards and two touchdowns. Zahmari Palode-Gary led their ground attack with two rushing touchdowns and a total of 140 rushing yards on just eighteen carries.

Central Missouri’s season will conclude with an away game against Nebraska Kearney on Saturday, November 15.
