The University of Central Missouri Jennies Soccer team, seeded third in the 2025 MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament, will host sixth-seeded Central Oklahoma in a quarterfinal match on Sunday, November 9 at 1 p.m. The game will take place at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.

The Jennies concluded their regular season with a win and a loss at home, defeating Missouri Southern 6-0 on October 31 and losing to Pittsburg State 1-0 on November 2. Key players for Central Missouri include forwards Mikayla Ernst, Patsy O'Brien, Izzy Joyce, and midfielder Coryn Jespersen. Ernst leads both the conference and ranks fourteenth nationally in NCAA Division II for goals scored (12) and points (29). Goalkeeper Kristen Wright has recorded eight shutouts this season with a goals-against average of 0.52.

Central Missouri averages just over two goals per game while limiting opponents to half a goal per match. The team leads the MIAA in total goals scored (38) and is second in fewest goals allowed (nine).

Tickets for Sunday's quarterfinal are $5 and can be purchased online or at the venue. UCM students receive free admission with student ID through support from the university president's office.

Six Jennies received All-MIAA honors for their performances during the regular season: Mikayla Ernst and Mackenzie Smith were named First Team All-MIAA; Aspen Patterson made Second Team; Kate Ricker was Third Team; Kristen Wright and Hazel Douglas-Trotman earned Honorable Mention.

Mikayla Ernst recently joined select company by scoring four goals in a single match—a feat achieved only twice before in program history.

Preseason expectations were high as Jennies Soccer was ranked first in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll for 2025, receiving four first-place votes.

At home since 2016, Central Missouri has maintained an impressive record of 94 wins, eight losses, and three draws at the South Recreation Complex under head coach Lewis Theobald. In his eighteenth year leading the program, Theobald holds an overall record of 318-55-31 and is recognized as one of Division II’s most successful coaches by winning percentage.

Central Missouri holds an advantage over Central Oklahoma historically, leading their all-time series 18-7-5. Earlier this season, both teams played to a scoreless draw. They have met eight times previously in MIAA tournament play; last year’s championship saw UCM secure a narrow victory over UCO.

New additions to this year's roster include ten newcomers—eight freshmen from high school and two transfers—to strengthen squad depth.

If victorious on Sunday, Central Missouri will advance to the tournament semifinals scheduled for Thursday, November 13 in Wichita.
