Bothwell Regional Health Center will host a childcare education course aimed at pre-teens on Saturday, April 12. The Safe Sitter class is designed for students in grades 6 through 8, focusing on ensuring their safety when home alone, caring for younger siblings, or babysitting.

The curriculum covers a range of topics including indoor, outdoor, online and personal safety skills. Participants will also learn about child development and childcare routines such as diapering practice. The course includes behavior management strategies and injury prevention techniques. Students will be taught choking rescue practices and CPR alongside insights into the business aspects of babysitting.

The class is scheduled from 8 am to 2:30 pm at the Bothwell Education Center located at 600 E. 14th Street. A fee of $45 is required for participation. Due to limited space, registration and payment must be completed by April 2 to secure a spot in the class.

For additional details or to register, interested parties can contact the Bothwell Education Center via email at classes@brhc.org or by phone at 660-827-9516.
