The Bothwell Foundation is set to host "Docs and Bobbers," an event that combines men's health education with fishing tips. Scheduled for 7 pm on Thursday, April 17, the event will take place at Bothwell Health Center-Truman Lake in Warsaw, located at 1765 Commercial St.
Organized by the foundation’s Community Relations committee, "Docs and Bobbers" aims to provide health information from Bothwell physicians while offering crappie spawn fishing advice from a local expert. The event supports the committee's mission of promoting health education through community engagement.
Featured speakers include Dr. Gabriel Anders from Bothwell Pulmonary Specialists discussing sleep apnea, Dr. Dalton Lohsandt from Bothwell Family Medicine on preventing and treating outdoor injuries, and Jason Smith with MO Fishing Guide.
Diana Nichols, chair of the Community Relations committee, expressed enthusiasm about hosting their first men's event. "Events like these help bridge the gap between health care and the community," she stated. "Docs and Bobbers is a unique way to connect with men in our region, providing them with valuable health information while engaging them in an activity they love."
Attendees will enjoy drinks and appetizers and have a chance to win a guided fishing trip. Due to limited seating, reservations are requested by April 14 via email at lnakagawa@brhc.org or by calling 660.829.8855.
Additionally, the Community Relations committee encourages area clubs, organizations, and businesses to explore Bothwell facilities such as the Truman Lake clinic. Interested parties can contact Lauren Thiel-Payne, Bothwell Foundation executive director at lthiel@brhc.org for tours.
