Central Missouri falls to Montana State-Billings in D2CCA Tip-Off Classic

Central Missouri Mules basketball lost to Montana State-Billings 80-75 on Saturday, Nov. 8, in the second game of the 2025 D2CCA Tip-Off Classic held at Alterowitz Gymnasium in Billings, Montana.

The Mules were down by five points at halftime but managed to tie the game at 55 after a basket from Lazerek Houston, who finished with 17 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Houston then hit a three-pointer to give Central Missouri a six-point lead with less than 11 minutes remaining.

Montana State-Billings answered with an eight-point run and maintained their advantage for the rest of the game. Miles Gurske led MSU-Billings with 17 points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals.

Jevon Hill was Central Missouri’s top scorer with 23 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including five three-pointers out of ten attempts. He also added six rebounds. Kyran Tilley contributed 14 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Trinell Parker recorded seven rebounds—most in the game—alongside six points and two steals. Naz Brown scored five points.

Central Missouri out-rebounded their opponent by a margin of 42-37. Deadric Fikes collected six boards and scored three points while Noah Martin had four rebounds and two points.

The Mules will finish their participation in the tournament on Sunday against New Mexico Highlands Cowboys at Alterowitz Gymnasium.
