The University of Central Missouri Jennies Soccer team, ranked No. 18, concluded its regular season with a 1-0 loss to Pittsburg State on Sunday at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Pittsburg State secured the win with a goal from Carrie Cunningham in the 30th minute. Cunningham scored from just outside the box, sending her shot into the upper right corner of the net.
Throughout the match, Pittsburg State outshot Central Missouri by a margin of 12-5 and held a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal. The Gorillas also led in corner kicks, earning five compared to three for the Jennies.
Central Missouri's goalkeeper Kristen Wright played all 90 minutes, conceding one goal and making four saves.
Before kickoff, Central Missouri recognized its two seniors for 2025, Rylie Hughes and Anna Lack.
With this result, Central Missouri finishes its regular season with a record of 10-4-4 overall and 7-2-3 in MIAA play. The team will next compete in the MIAA Women's Soccer Championship Tournament beginning with a quarterfinal match on November 9 against an opponent yet to be determined at a location that has not been announced.
