Central Missouri Jennies volleyball team secured a straight-set victory over the Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions on Saturday, November 1, at the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg. The match ended with set scores of 25-15, 28-26, and 25-20.

The Jennies opened the match with a decisive first set win, marked by a 9-2 run that included two kills from Rachel Ziesman. Ziesman finished the game with a match-high 14 kills and three blocks. Redshirt sophomore Emma Siron also contributed significantly in the opening set, hitting .444 with six kills on nine attempts along with four digs and one block.

In the second set, after an attack error by Arkansas-Fort Smith tied the score at 26, Central Missouri took control when middle blocker Kaelyn McDonald delivered a kill to give her team the lead. Setter Kayla Baer then closed out the set at 28-26 with a kill. McDonald ended up with eight kills, five digs, and one block for the match; Baer led all players with 43 assists in addition to nine digs and four kills.

The Jennies completed their tenth sweep of the season by winning the third set. An 8-2 run featuring kills from outside hitter Shaye Koski (who tallied nine kills on 21 swings for a .333 hitting percentage), Siron, and Ziesman helped secure the final points.

On defense, three Jennies recorded double-digit digs. Redshirt senior Grace Winkelmann led all players with 29 digs while defensive specialist Brenna Kelly added ten. Their efforts limited Arkansas-Fort Smith to a .130 hitting percentage during the match.

Other contributors included Ragin Corwin from Blue Springs, Mo., who collected eight digs, and outside hitter Maya Fergerson who added five kills.

Central Missouri will continue its season on Tuesday, November 4 against Drury Panthers at O'Reilly Family Event Center in Springfield. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
