Central Missouri Jennies fall to No. 7 Central Oklahoma in four-set home loss

Central Missouri Jennies volleyball team was defeated by the seventh-ranked Central Oklahoma Bronchos in a four-set match on Friday night. The contest, held at Dr. Peggy Martin Court inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg, ended with scores of 25-12, 19-25, 17-25, and 16-25.

The Jennies started strong, opening the first set with a 5-0 run led by Emma Siron and Maya Fergerson. Siron finished the match with a team-high 12 kills and 12 digs, while Fergerson contributed 10 kills, two blocks, and two digs. In the first set, Central Missouri outhit Central Oklahoma .577 to .034. Shaye Koski added five kills in the frame and recorded a career-best .435 hitting percentage for the match.

Central Oklahoma responded by winning the next three sets. Lindsey Houran led the Bronchos with a double-double performance as they secured their 22nd win of the season and improved to an 8-3 record in conference play.

On defense for Central Missouri, Grace Winkelmann collected 12 digs along with five assists and five service aces. Brenna Kelly added seven digs from the back row. Setter Kayla Baer tallied a match-high 36 assists and six digs. Senior Rachel Ziesman posted five kills and two solo blocks during the match.

Central Missouri’s overall record now stands at 15-6 (7-4 MIAA). The team will continue its conference schedule on Saturday, November 1, hosting Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions at Dr. Peggy Martin Court inside Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.
