University of Central Missouri Athletics has announced a ticket discount initiative for the upcoming Mules Football home game against Pittsburg State. The game is scheduled for Saturday, November 8, at 1 p.m. at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field.

The athletic department will offer a 50 percent discount on general admission tickets to individuals who donate items to The Food Center of Johnson County. Each donated item from a specified list allows the donor to purchase one discounted ticket. For example, donating two items would allow the purchase of two discounted tickets.

For those who already have tickets or do not wish to attend the football game, donations can be exchanged for a voucher for a general admission ticket to the Mules and Jennies home basketball doubleheader against Fort Hays State on December 4.

The requested donation items include canned tuna, canned chicken, peanut butter, dried milk, canned soup, bagged soup mix, bar soap, and canned mixed vegetables. Only these items will be accepted as part of the promotion. All collected goods will go directly to The Food Center of Johnson County to assist local residents affected by the ongoing government shutdown.

Donations can be made at the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee table at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field on game day or in advance at the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center Ticket Office (room 101) during business hours until Friday, November 7.

"UCM Athletic Department encourages fans of the Mules and Jennies to support their local community through this initiative," according to University of Central Missouri Athletics.
