The Western Missouri Medical Center (WMMC) Auxiliary is now accepting applications for its 2025 healthcare career scholarships. These scholarships are open to residents of Johnson County or students attending the University of Central Missouri, State Fair Community College, or the University of Missouri – KC who are pursuing careers in healthcare.
Scholarships cover various health-related fields such as nursing, medical school, physical therapy, wellness, laboratory work, radiology, occupational therapy, cardio-pulmonary services, pharmacy, and nutrition. The Auxiliary Scholarship Committee will evaluate applicants based on financial need, academic performance, career plans, and interest in healthcare.
The number and amount of scholarships awarded will depend on the needs of applicants and available funds. Applications have been distributed to high schools in Johnson County and educational institutions like Warrensburg Area Career Center and State Fair Community College. They can also be accessed on the WMMC website.
Completed applications must be submitted to Michelle Schubert at WMMC's Communications & Development Department by April 1, 2025. Incomplete submissions will not be considered. The scholarship committee will review applications after this deadline and announce awards by early May 2025.
For further details, contact Michelle Schubert at Western Missouri Medical Center via phone at (660) 262-7466 or email mschubert@wmmc.com.
In light of rising education costs and increasing demand for healthcare workers, there is a continued need for scholarship funding. Donations to the WMMC Auxiliary help provide additional scholarships. Contributions can be sent to:
