Central Missouri’s Donovyn Omolo earns MIAA offensive athlete honor after standout performance

University of Central Missouri quarterback Donovyn Omolo has been named the MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week, according to an announcement from the conference office on Monday, October 6.

Omolo, a redshirt freshman from Conway, Arkansas, played a key role in the Mules' 35-34 win against Central Oklahoma on Saturday, October 4. During that game in Edmond, Oklahoma, he threw for a career-high 331 yards with two passing touchdowns and completed 20 of 40 attempts. He also contributed two rushing touchdowns on 12 carries for 37 yards. Additionally, Omolo caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from wide receiver Marlon Lindsey Jr., marking his first career receiving touchdown and bringing his total to five touchdowns for the game. In total, he accumulated 368 yards of offense.

The Mules will next face No. 22-ranked Northwest Missouri State at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field in Warrensburg on Saturday, October 11 at 1 p.m.
