The University of Central Missouri Jennies women's golf team is leading after the first round of the Grace Shin Invitational, held at the Golf Club of Edmond in Edmond, Oklahoma. The tournament began on Monday, October 6.
Central Missouri posted an even-par score of 284 to secure first place after the opening round. Central Oklahoma, the host team, is currently in second place with a score of 288 (+4), while Arkansas Tech stands third at 292 (+8).
Senior Mia Rallo led the Jennies and all competitors with a 5-under-par 66, giving her the individual lead as the tournament heads into its final round on Tuesday. Ellen Spigner from Arkansas Tech and Grace Hall from Central Oklahoma are tied for second individually at 3-under (68).
Other notable performances for Central Missouri include Madolyn Kost, who finished with a 1-over 72 and is tied for ninth place. Ansley Giesselmann and Kiki Bruner both shot rounds of 73 (+2), tying them for fifteenth. Senior Libby Green ended her day tied for forty-first after shooting a 77 (+6).
Freshman Addison Davis, competing as an individual rather than as part of the team lineup, also recorded a score of 72 (+1) and shares ninth place with Kost.
The Jennies will conclude their participation in the Grace Shin Invitational with the final round scheduled for Tuesday, October 7.
