No. 10-ranked Central Missouri Jennies Soccer played to a 1-1 draw against Northeastern State University in their Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) opener on Friday, September 26, at DeLoache Field in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
The Jennies, now holding a record of 3-2-2 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play, took an early lead when Mikayla Ernst scored her ninth goal of the season in the ninth minute. Izzy Joyce provided the assist for Ernst's goal. This marks Ernst's seventh goal in the last three matches.
Central Missouri maintained its advantage until late in the match. In the 88th minute, Brynn Baldon from Northeastern State scored off a free kick delivered by goalkeeper Rebecca Partyka, tying the game at 1-1.
Throughout the match, Central Missouri outshot Northeastern State by a margin of 8-7. However, Northeastern State had more shots on target with six compared to four for Central Missouri. Both teams recorded three corner kicks each.
