Central Missouri Jennies finish sixth at DBU Classic golf tournament

The Central Missouri Jennies Golf Team finished sixth at the DBU Classic, which concluded Tuesday at Oakmont Country Club in Corinth, Texas. The team, ranked No. 10 in the WGCA preseason poll, posted a total score of 587 (295 in the first round and 292 in the final round), finishing 11-over par.

Eight of the fifteen teams competing were included in the WGCA preseason rankings. Dallas Baptist University, ranked No. 1, won the tournament with a score of 566 (284, 282) for 10-under par. The University of Texas Tyler, ranked No. 17, secured second place with an even-par score of 576 (292, 284). Rogers State and Midwestern State tied for third place at seven-over par with scores of 583.

Senior Mia Rallo led Central Missouri by finishing ninth overall at one-under par with rounds of 69 and 74 for a total score of 143. Madison Ude from Dallas Baptist won the individual title after carding a nine-under-par total of 135 (68, 67).

Central Missouri’s Madolyn Kost (72, 73) and Libby Green (76, 69) both tied for fourteenth place at one-over par with scores of 145 each. Kiki Bruner finished tied for sixty-fifth after posting rounds of 78 and 76 for a ten-over-par total of 154. Ansley Giesselmann completed the Jennies’ lineup by tying for seventy-third place at fourteen-over par with rounds of 82 and 76 for a total score of 158.

The Jennies are scheduled to compete next at the Grace Shin Invitational on October 6-7 at the Golf Club of Edmond in Edmond, Oklahoma.
