The University of Central Missouri Men's Golf team secured a second-place finish at the NSU Men's Classic, which concluded Tuesday, September 16, at the Page Belcher Golf Course in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Mules posted a final round team score of 282, bringing their total for the 54-hole event to 835 (17-under par). Central Oklahoma, ranked No. 11 nationally, won the tournament with a score of 24-under par.
Junior CJ Phillips led Central Missouri with rounds of 68 and closed with a 67 (4-under), earning him second place individually at 203 (10-under par) over three rounds. Senior Nick Fallin also delivered a strong performance, finishing tied for fifth after shooting rounds of 68, 71, and a final round of 66 to reach an overall score of 205 (8-under).
Freshman Kale Flinton finished tied for 21st place with scores of 67, 72, and 73 for a total of 212 (1-under). Redshirt-senior Brooks Baldwin recorded rounds of 73, 70, and 76 to end in a tie for 66th at 219 (+6). Sophomore Archer Schnieders rounded out the team’s scoring with rounds of 69, 76, and 78 to finish in 85th place at a total of 223 (+10).
Competing as an individual, Jack Hope completed his tournament with scores of 68, 72, and 75 for a total score of 215 (+2), tying him for fortieth place.
The Mules will next compete at the Missouri Western Holiday Inn Express Classic on October 6-7 at the St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri.
