Jack Pospisil, a redshirt senior wide receiver for the University of Central Missouri Mules Football team, has been named the MIAA Football Offensive Athlete of the Week. The announcement was made by the conference office on Monday, September 15.
Pospisil earned this recognition after setting a new single-game receiving yards record for the Mules. He recorded 252 receiving yards on 12 catches and scored a touchdown during Central Missouri's game against Colorado State Pueblo on Thursday, September 11. Despite his performance, the Mules fell to Colorado State Pueblo with a final score of 29-24 at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field in Warrensburg.
The previous single-game receiving yards record for Central Missouri was held by Zach Patterson, who registered 232 yards on 10 catches during a game against Fort Hays State on October 5 of last season.
Central Missouri will begin its MIAA conference play at Missouri Western on Saturday, September 20. The game is set for 6 p.m. at Craig Field at Spratt Memorial Stadium in St. Joseph, Missouri.
"Jack Pospisil shattered the Mules Football single-game receiving yards record after tallying a career-best 252 yards on 12 catches, including a touchdown reception, in UCM's 29-24 setback to then No. 13-ranked Colorado State Pueblo Thursday, Sept. 11, at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field in Warrensburg," according to the university release.
