Central Missouri Jennies volleyball falls to Findlay Oilers in five-set match

The Central Missouri Jennies volleyball team lost a close match to the Findlay Oilers on Saturday, September 13, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The contest was part of the Hampton Inn & Suites Grand Rapids Downtown Classic and ended with a 3-2 score in favor of Findlay (25-15, 23-25, 25-23, 15-25, 12-15).

Central Missouri started strong by taking the first set 25-15. Redshirt sophomore Emma Siron led the effort with six kills on thirteen attempts and finished the match with a career-high 19 kills and a personal best of 16 digs.

Findlay tied the match by winning the second set. In the third set, after a tie at 22 points each, Siron secured the lead for Central Missouri with her fourth kill of that frame. Junior Shaye Koski and middle blocker Kaelyn McDonald added crucial kills to help win that set.

Despite these efforts, Findlay took control in sets four and five to secure their fifth win of the season. The Oilers were led by double-double performances from Emma White and Hannah Miller.

Kayla Baer recorded her second double-double performance this season for Central Missouri with 46 assists and twelve digs. Senior Rachel Ziesman contributed nine kills and eight blocks. Middle blocker Grace Wagers also had seven blocks and six kills.

Four players from Central Missouri reached double-digit digs during the match. Libero Grace Winkelmann had a season-best twenty-four digs while Brenna Kelly collected ten.

Central Missouri will next play against Ouachita Baptist Tigers on Friday, September 19. The match is scheduled for 5:00 p.m., at Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg during the Comfort Inn Invitational.
