Central Missouri men’s golf takes second place again at The Mule tournament

The University of Central Missouri men's golf team finished in second place at The Mule tournament, held Tuesday at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg. This marks the second consecutive season that the team has secured the runner-up position at this event.

The Mules A Team, consisting of Kale Flinton, Archer Schnieders, Brooks Baldwin, Nick Fallin, and CJ Phillips, recorded an even-par total score of 840 over three rounds (280-275-285). This result stands as the fourth-lowest 54-hole round in the program's history.

Central Missouri's B Team—Lawson Barks, Henry Manning, Jack Hope, Garrett McIntosh, and Andrew Whittaker—finished 17th with a combined score of 600 (303-297-291), which is 51-over par.

No. 11-ranked Central Oklahoma won the tournament for the second straight year by posting a three-round score of 826 (274-270-282), finishing at 14-under par. Arkansas-Fort Smith placed third with a total score of 866 (298-290-278), which was 26-over par.

Individually for UCM, CJ Phillips tied for second place after shooting a two-under-par total of 208 (74-64-70). Freshman Kale Flinton tied for fifth at even-par 210 (68-68-74), while Archer Schnieders tied for ninth with a one-over-par total of 211 (69-69-73).

Nick Fallin moved up 21 spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for twelfth at four-over-par 214 (72-74-68). Henry Manning ended his rounds ten-over par with a score of 220 (76-73-71) to finish in thirty-third place. Brooks Baldwin tied for forty-first at eleven-over par with a score of 221 (71-75-75). Jack Hope posted thirteen-over par for fifty-second place with a score of 223 (76-74-73). Lawson Barks scored fifteen-over par to tie for sixty-fifth place with a total of 225 (79-73-73). Freshman Garrett McIntosh finished seventy-second at sixteen-over par with a score of 226 (75-77-74), and Andrew Whittaker tied for ninety-fourth after carding twenty-five-over par at 235 (76–81–78).

Nathan Womack competed individually and finished in one hundred second place after scoring thirty-over par with rounds of 82, 76, and 82.

The Mules will compete next in Tulsa, Oklahoma from September 15 to September 16 at their first Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association event: the Northeastern State Men's Golf Classic held at Stone Creek at Page Belcher Golf Course.
