The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) has announced the continuation of its partnership with Scripps Media to broadcast MIAA Football Game of the Week on KMCI, 38 The Spot, for the 2025 season. The station will air 12 MIAA football games in the Kansas City metropolitan area, providing coverage of some of the conference's best matchups each Saturday during the NCAA Division II season. All games will also be streamed live on The MIAA Network.

Central Missouri Mules Football will have two games aired on 38 The Spot. Their home opener against Colorado State-Pueblo is scheduled for Thursday, September 11 at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field in Warrensburg. Additionally, their away game against Washburn on Saturday, October 18 in Topeka, Kansas will also be televised.

"We are excited to enter our second year featuring a 12-week MIAA Football TV Game of the Week on 38 The Spot," said MIAA Commissioner Mike Racy. "This is a great Kansas City sports television platform, which helps the MIAA office reach new audiences to showcase some of the best collegiate football programs in the Midwest. We also know that this exposure will help drive many new patrons to The MIAA Network," Racy explained.

Kathleen Choal, Regional Vice-President and General Manager of KSHB and KMCI stated, "It is great to be talking about the return of fall football and having the MIAA Football Game of the Week back on KMCI, 38 The Spot." She added that their audience enjoys watching these weekly matchups.

KMCI-TV first began broadcasting in 1988 and remains Kansas City's only independent station. The Scripps News Group emphasizes fact-based reporting and community engagement.
