University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball had three players chosen on the second day of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft, held in Atlanta, Georgia.
Nathan Hall, a right-handed pitcher, was selected by the New York Mets in the sixth round at pick number 193. JD McReynolds, another right-handed pitcher, was picked by the Texas Rangers in the 10th round at pick number 295. Catcher Chase Heath was taken by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 20th and final round at pick number 600.
This year's draft marks a significant achievement for Central Missouri, with these three selections being the most since a record six players were drafted from the program in 2005. This brings Mules Baseball's total of all-time drafted players to 40.
The university also stands out as having more MLB Draft picks than any other college baseball program in Missouri for this year.
Hall, from Liberty, Mo., made notable contributions over two seasons with 31 strikeouts in 29 1/3 innings pitched. McReynolds, from Sullivan, Mo., had an impressive season with an ERA of 1.41 and was named an All-American four times during his tenure at UCM. Heath, from O'Fallon, Mo., had a standout performance hitting .368 with nine homers and earning honors such as Honorable Mention All-MIAA selection.
