University of Central Missouri's CJ Phillips emerged victorious at the 2025 Oklahoma Golf Association 43rd-Annual Stroke Play Championship. The event took place on June 19 at the Shangri-La Resort in Monkey Island, Oklahoma.
Phillips, hailing from Edmond, Oklahoma, completed the tournament with a three-round score of 10-under par 206 (70-67-69). This result placed him in a tie for first place, leading to a playoff where he triumphed over competitors Baylor Bostick from Duncan and William Hennessee from Tulsa.
Having just finished his sophomore year at UCM, Phillips was second on his team during the 2024-25 season with an average stroke score of 73.43 over 35 rounds. His achievements include one top-10 finish and an All-MIAA honor after securing the 12th position at the MIAA Men's Golf Championship held on April 23 in Jefferson City, Missouri. Additionally, Phillips contributed to UCM's runner-up performance at the MIAA Championship and their fourth-place finish at the NCAA-II Midwest/Central Regional in St. Joseph, Missouri on May 10. This fourth-place finish qualified UCM for participation in the NCAA-II Men's Golf Championship scheduled for May 19-21 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
