At the Fitzgibbon Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers annual meeting on April 28, they presented a check for $16,164.91 to Nancy Harris, the Chief Operations Officer of Fitzgibbon Hospital. This donation will be allocated for "wish list" items requested by the patient care departments of the hospital and to support continuing education for staff.

The funds are accumulated through the Auxiliary Holiday Bazaar every November, an annual rummage sale, and other vendor events. These events feature vendors selling items like scrubs, books, and snacks. The organization’s gift shop at Fitzgibbon Hospital also contributes to this annual donation. Since its inception in the 1960s by the late Mrs. (Maggie) Charles Buckner, the Auxiliary has donated more than $1.1 million.

During the meeting, officers for the upcoming year were announced. The leadership will include Melisa Shannon as president, Jacque Hare as vice president, Rachel Hayworth as recording secretary, and Mendy Fann as treasurer. Other positions include Morgan Lampe as the corresponding secretary, Amy Green as historian, Nancy Kleinschmidt as parliamentarian, and Amanda Linneman as the Legislative representative.
