Central Missouri Jennies sweep Pitt State on Senior Day

Central Missouri Jennies volleyball team achieved a straight-set victory over Pittsburg State Gorillas on Saturday, November 15, at the Dr. Peggy Martin Court in the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg. The match scores were 25-18, 27-25, and 25-19.

Senior Rachel Ziesman contributed nine kills, two blocks, and two digs during the match. Emma Siron recorded 13 kills, 11 digs, and two blocks. The second set ended with back-to-back kills from Ziesman to break a tie at 25 points each.

Shaye Koski led all players with 14 kills and added two blocks for Central Missouri. On defense, redshirt senior Grace Winkelmann collected a match-high of 21 digs along with six assists. Kirsten Harper finished with 12 digs and freshman Ragin Corwin added four.

Kaelyn McDonald played as middle blocker and posted six kills, three blocks, and three digs. Senior Kayla Baer had a match-best of 38 assists along with nine kills. Grace Wagers also contributed three kills.

After the match concluded, Central Missouri held a ceremony to honor four seniors: Kersti Nix, Kayla Baer, Rachel Ziesman, and Grace Winkelmann for their time with the program.

Central Missouri will next face Washburn Ichabods in the opening round of the MIAA Volleyball Championships on Thursday, November 20 at St. Joseph Civic Arena in St. Joseph.
