Central Missouri Jennies volleyball secured a straight-set win over Missouri Southern Lions on Friday, October 24, in Joplin, Missouri. The Jennies improved their season record to 15-5 overall and 7-3 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) with the 3-0 victory, posting set scores of 25-23, 25-19, and 25-23.

The Jennies started strong in the opening set, going on a 6-1 run that included two kills from Rachel Ziesman. Ziesman finished the match with eight kills and four blocks. Her fifth kill in the set secured the 25-23 win for Central Missouri.

In the second set, Central Missouri used two 5-1 runs to build momentum. Setter Kayla Baer recorded 12 assists in the frame and totaled a match-high 34 assists along with six digs, two kills, and two blocks for the match. The Jennies converted 68 percent of their sideout opportunities, taking the set 25-19.

During the third set, Kaelyn McDonald tied the score at 2-2 with one of her three service aces. McDonald led the team with 11 kills and contributed two digs. An attack error by Missouri Southern gave Central Missouri a lead they maintained through the end of the set for another 25-23 win, marking their ninth sweep this season.

Other notable performances included Maya Fergerson with nine kills, three digs, and two blocks; Shaye Koski with seven kills and three digs; and Grace Winkelmann leading the defense with 19 digs. Kirsten Harper added nine digs, Ragin Corwin had eight, and Brenna Kelly contributed seven.

Central Missouri will continue MIAA play on Friday, October 31, when they host No. 7-ranked Central Oklahoma Bronchos at Dr. Peggy Martin Court inside Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg. The match will begin at 6:00 p.m. and feature a Halloween Trick or Treat Night.
