Several events are scheduled in Warrensburg, Missouri, as part of the University of Central Missouri's Homecoming Week. The festivities will center around the Mules Football Homecoming Game against Emporia State, set for Saturday, October 25 at 1:30 p.m. at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field.
Former student-athletes and supporters of UCM Athletics have been invited to a special tailgate event called Party in the Park at Selmo Park. This location is situated along the parade route and near the Mule Walk, where fans can cheer on the football team before the game.
Members of the Cardinal & Black Fund at the All-Region level or higher ($500+), as well as Varsity C Club members who pre-register, will receive exclusive amenities within the Cardinal & Black Fund tailgate area. According to organizers: "Tailgate wristband for the athletics area; One food truck voucher (value $12); Complimentary non-alcoholic beverages; Four drink tickets for canned Yuengling products, mimosas, and Bloody Marys; Automatic entry into the Party in the Park prizes."
Public attendees can also access several activities through Party in the Park. Amenities include a Mule Fan Zone, live music from Kansas City band KC FLO, bounce houses for children, photo opportunities with UCM Aviation, golf cart shuttles from parking lots to Selmo Park, front-row viewing of the parade—which starts at 9 a.m.—and complimentary UCM merchandise. There will also be bourbon whiskey tastings featuring Fighting Mules Stable Select and Stable Signature.
The standard Cardinal & Black Fund pregame tailgate and Achauer House parade social will not take place this year. Organizers note: "All CBF members are encouraged to attend the UCM Athletics Cardinal & Black tailgate at Party in the Park."
A key tradition during Homecoming is the annual parade. It begins at 9 a.m. at Holden and Clark streets and moves north on Holden Street through campus toward downtown Warrensburg before turning east onto Gay Street and then south on College Street until South Street. Parade judges and bands will be stationed on Holden Street near Johnson County Courthouse.
Homecoming Week concludes with Saturday’s football game between Central Missouri Mules Football and Emporia State Hornets at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field. Tickets are available online via UCMAthletics.com/tickets.
