The Central Missouri Jennies golf team ended the first day of the Midwest Classic in first place after completing 36 holes at Mules National Golf Club. The team, ranked No. 13, recorded a combined score of 576, finishing 16-over par. Arkansas Tech followed in second place with a score of 584, while Arkansas-Fort Smith and Central Oklahoma were tied for third at 594.
Freshman Ansley Giesselmann led the Jennies, posting rounds of 68 and 71 to finish at 1-under par with a total score of 139, placing her second individually. Senior Mia Rallo was close behind, finishing third with consecutive rounds of 70 for an even-par total of 140.
Senior Kiki Bruner finished tied for fifth, going 5-over par with a two-round score of 145, including an even-par second round. Senior Madolyn Kost shot a total of 152 to tie for 31st, while freshman Addison Davis finished with a score of 153, placing her 35th.
In addition to the team competitors, four Jennies played as individuals. Senior Libby Green is tied for 21st with a score of 149. Hannah Mottert and Reece Nimmo are both tied for 45th at 156, while Olivia Thetford is in 85th place with a score of 181.
The final round of the tournament will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Mules National Golf Club.
