The University of Central Missouri Jennies Bowling team began its 2025-26 season with a series of wins, defeating Central Methodist at the Central Cup on October 4 at the Union Bowling Center and sweeping Western Illinois on October 5 at Alley Cats.
During the Central Cup, UCM fielded two squads. Junior Julia Speich led the UCM Red squad with a total pinfall of 736 and an average score of 184.0. Senior Emma Hawley contributed with a 169.5 average. The UCM Black squad was led by Gianna Nichols, who averaged 173.0, Sydney Lee with a 172.8 average, and Hailey Bates at 167.0. Together, the Black squad achieved a combined score of 1,355 in Baker play.
On Sunday against Western Illinois, the Jennies secured a narrow victory in the 5-Person Team Match by one pin (811-810), followed by two significant wins in Baker Total pinfall matches (870-754 and 961-811). Freshman Carie Mascarello posted a team-high average of 202.0 pins for UCM, while senior Camryn Cramer averaged 198.3 and Speich recorded an average of 185.7.
Throughout both days of competition, several Jennies bowlers maintained averages above 160 pins per game.
The Jennies are scheduled to compete next at the Jayhawk Collegiate Classic in Topeka, Kansas on October 25-26.
