The University of Central Missouri Mules basketball team has been ranked seventh in both the 2025-26 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Preseason Coaches' Poll and Media Polls. The announcement was made on Monday, October 6, during the annual MIAA Basketball Media Day held at the College Basketball Experience in Kansas City, Missouri.

Central Missouri received 102 points in the coaches' poll and 186 points in the media poll. Washburn was selected as the preseason favorite, earning 169 points and 13 first-place votes from coaches, and receiving 346 points with 23 first-place votes from media members.

Rogers State followed Washburn in the coaches' poll with 141 points and one first-place vote. Central Oklahoma and Fort Hays State each collected 137 points, while Pittsburg State rounded out the top five with 127 points. In the media poll, Fort Hays State took second place with 297 points and one first-place vote. Rogers State (286 points, one first-place vote), Pittsburg State (280 points), and Central Oklahoma (229 points) completed the top five.

Central Missouri returns four players from last season's roster: Kyran Tilley—who was named MIAA Freshman of the Year—Jake Fritz, Noah Martin, and Kyree Polk. Last season, the Mules finished with a record of 15-15 and reached the quarterfinals of the MIAA Basketball Championship for the first time since the 2017-18 season.

The upcoming season for Central Missouri begins on Friday, November 7. The team will face Colorado School of Mines at noon inside Alterowitz Gymnasium in Billings, Montana as part of the D2CCA Tip-Off Classic.
