Central Missouri Jennies soccer ties Nebraska Kearney in scoreless MIAA match

The University of Central Missouri Jennies Soccer team, ranked tenth nationally, played to a scoreless draw against the University of Nebraska Kearney Lopers in a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) match on Sunday, October 5, at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.

During the game, Central Missouri recorded 14 shots compared to Nebraska Kearney’s nine and held a 7-4 edge in shots on goal. The Jennies also led in corner kicks with 14, while the Lopers had two.

Central Missouri goalkeeper Kristen Wright achieved her fourth shutout of the season by making four saves and allowing no goals during her 90 minutes on the field. Nebraska Kearney’s goalkeeper Susie Bovaird made seven saves over 90 minutes and also allowed no goals, earning her third shutout of the year.

The Jennies’ record now stands at 5-2-3 overall and 2-0-2 in conference play. They are set to host Northwest Missouri State (6-2, 3-0 MIAA) on Friday, October 10, at 6 p.m. in Warrensburg.
