Central Missouri Jennies golf chosen as preseason favorite in MIAA coaches' poll

The University of Central Missouri Jennies Golf team has been voted the preseason favorite in the 2025-26 MIAA Women's Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll, according to results released by the conference office on Monday. The Jennies, who are the defending NCAA Division II National Runner-Up and Central Region Champion, received 143 points and 11 first-place votes to secure the top spot.

On the men's side, Mules Golf was selected second in the poll with 90 points and two first-place votes. Central Oklahoma took first place with 99 points and nine first-place votes, finishing nine points ahead of Central Missouri.

The Jennies have already started their season, winning the Central Region Fall Preview held September 2-3 at Adams Pointe Golf Club in Blue Springs, Missouri. The Mules will open their season by hosting The Mule at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg on September 8 and 9.

The full results for the men's poll placed Washburn third with 75 points, followed by Arkansas Fort-Smith (66), Fort Hays State (55), Missouri Western (51), Northeastern State (41), Newman (38), Missouri Southern (35), Rogers State (29), and Pittsburg State (26).

In the women's poll, Arkansas Fort Smith came in second with 120 points, Nebraska Kearney third with 108 points, and Northwest Missouri fourth with 104 points. Rogers State secured fifth place with two first-place votes and a total of 100 points. The remaining teams included Missouri Western (90), Central Oklahoma (84), Washburn (73), Missouri Southern (72), Northeastern State (43), Newman (29), Pittsburg State (25), and Fort Hays State (23).
