Three members of the University of Central Missouri Mules golf team have been named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for their achievements in academics and athletics during the 2024-25 academic year. The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced on Tuesday, July 29, that Calvin Dillon, Nick Fallin, and Andrew Whittaker received this recognition.

To qualify for the Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honor, student-athletes must be sophomores, juniors, or seniors both academically and athletically at NCAA Division I, II, III institutions or NAIA schools. Those in their final year of eligibility in NJCAA programs are also eligible if they are receiving an Associate's Degree. Nominees must participate in at least half of their team's competitive rounds and meet specific stroke average requirements depending on division: under 76.0 for NCAA Division I, under 78.0 for Division II, under 79.0 for Division III, under 78.0 for NAIA, and under 77.0 for NJCAA. In addition to athletic criteria, recipients must maintain a cumulative career grade-point average of at least 3.2 and demonstrate high moral character while remaining in good standing with their institution.

This marks the third consecutive year Dillon has earned All-America Scholar honors. Fallin and Whittaker are first-time recipients.

A total of 207 NCAA Division II athletes from 78 schools were recognized as Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for the 2024-25 academic year.

"The GCAA's mission is to support its member coaches from six divisions, including the NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA, by creating educational opportunities, providing resources, and promoting its members with the purpose of enhancing their overall performance as coaches, mentors, and teachers," according to a statement from the association. "The GCAA also recognizes the excellence and achievements of its members and their student-athletes in academic, athletic, and civic endeavors."

Founded in 1958, the GCAA serves as a professional organization supporting men's collegiate golf coaches across multiple divisions.
