4.1% of Johnson County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Johnson County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,181 people out of the 53,889 living in Johnson County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Johnson County has remained fairly stable compared to the 4.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Johnson County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 27,751 people who had a job during that time, 3,334 were employed in the Armed Forces and 24,417 belonged to the civilian labor force.
