7.8% of citizens unemployed in Hickory County in 2021

Hickory County recorded an unemployment rate of 7.8% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 225 people out of the 8,429 living in Hickory County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Hickory County has decreased compared to the 9.1% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Hickory County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 2,656 people who had a job during that time, 15 were employed in the Armed Forces and 2,641 belonged to the civilian labor force.
