Bothwell Wound Healing Center has been recognized with the Center of Distinction award by Healogics, a prominent provider of advanced wound care services. The center achieved this honor through exceptional clinical outcomes over 12 months, maintaining a patient satisfaction rate above 92 percent and high wound healing rates.
Christy Goalder, director of the Wound Center, attributed the award to the team's collaboration and dedication. "We have an excellent group of nurses, physicians and a nurse practitioner who work together every day to provide quality wound care," she stated. "Our team approach shows in our quality measures and patient satisfaction scores. We also partner closely with patients’ primary care providers to support their healing process."
The center's wound care team includes Dr. Jeff Wadley, Dr. Trevor Beckham, and Nurse Practitioner Gail Meyer. They focus on treating chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, and infections.
Advanced treatments available at the center include negative pressure wound therapy, total contact casting, bio-engineered tissues, biosynthetic dressings, and growth factor therapies. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is also offered to promote wound healing by surrounding patients with 100 percent oxygen.
Goalder announced that the center recently upgraded its hyperbaric chambers to two new Sechrist models. "The new chambers allow us to increase the number of patients we can provide oxygen therapy for to six people a day," she said. "Each chamber is designed for maximum patient comfort. The interiors are spacious and connect to an integrated entertainment system. Surrounded by glass, patients can easily see out of the chamber while receiving treatment."
Patients can schedule appointments directly with the Wound Healing Center without needing a referral by calling 660-827-2525.
