The University of Central Missouri Jennies volleyball team has been ranked fifth in the 2025 MIAA Preseason Coaches’ Poll, as announced by the conference office on Friday, August 22.
Nebraska Kearney secured the top position with 119 points and nine out of twelve first-place votes. Central Oklahoma followed in second place with 111 points and three first-place votes. Washburn and Missouri Western took third and fourth places, earning 98 and 96 points respectively. Central Missouri was placed fifth with a total of 73 points.
Emporia State and Northwest Missouri were tied for sixth, each receiving 69 points. The remainder of the poll included Fort Hays State (45 points) in eighth, Pittsburg State (43 points), Arkansas-Fort Smith (35 points), Missouri Southern (23 points), and Newman at twelfth with 12 points.
The Jennies are set to return 14 players from last season’s roster, which includes two Second Team All-MIAA selections: senior Rachel Ziesman and outside hitter Maya Fergerson. The team also welcomes four new high school recruits—Ragin Corwin, Bria Dawson, Aspen Nelsen, and Sammy Klotz—as well as transfers Shelbi Wilson and Kaelyn McDonald.
Central Missouri will open its season on Friday, September 5 against Illinois-Springfield Prairie Stars during the Illinois-Springfield Tournament. The match is scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. start at The Recreation and Athletic Center in Springfield, Illinois.
