The Central Missouri Mules golf team finished in second place at the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Men’s Golf Championship on April 15 at Jefferson City Country Club. The team, ranked No. 30, recorded a total score of 874 after shooting a combined 7-under par in the final round, ending the tournament at 10-over.

This result highlights the team’s performance during a competitive championship event. The finish secures their standing among top teams and positions them for further postseason play.

Freshman Kale Flinton tied for third place individually after carding four consecutive birdies and finishing with six birdies on the back nine to shoot a round of five under par. Flinton moved up eleven spots on the leaderboard with his final round score of 67, totaling an even-par score of 216 for the tournament. Brooks Baldwin finished in eleventh place with a total score of 220, recording three birdies and going two over par in his last round.

CJ Phillips was just behind Baldwin, tying for twelfth place with a three-round total of 221 and finishing five over par. Phillips recorded four birdies to go one under on the back nine during his final round. Lawson Barks tied for sixteenth after scoring a total of 223 across three rounds and making one birdie on hole fifteen.

Andrew Whittaker substituted for Jack Hope and contributed to the team’s overall score by shooting two under par with five birdies in his round; however, this individual result did not count toward individual standings but was included in the team tally.

Looking ahead, Central Missouri will compete next month in the NCAA Division II Midwest/Central Super Regional from May 7-9 at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Michigan.
