The Central Missouri Jennies softball team won both games of a doubleheader against the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers on April 25, with final scores of 6-1 and 2-0 at Jennies Field in Warrensburg.

The event marked Senior Day for the Jennies, who recognized nine seniors for their contributions to the program following the conclusion of game two. Those honored included Aly Hageman, Bailey Ast, Jadyn Sheffield, Lexi Blackmon, Taylor Kvale, Bailey Brumley, Andi Siebeneck, graduate assistant coach Taryan Barrick-Wessels, and student manager Addie Lange.

In game one, Central Missouri took an early lead with an RBI single from Hageman in the first inning. The team added runs in subsequent innings through contributions from Blackmon and Cydney Fullerton. Marisa Johnson extended the lead further with an RBI single in the fourth inning. Although Nebraska-Kearney scored once in the sixth inning, Taylor Thompson’s RBI double and another run batted in by Hageman secured a 6-1 victory for Central Missouri. Brumley earned her eleventh win of the season as pitcher while striking out eight batters.

During game two of the doubleheader, Johnson drove in a run with a double down the left field line to put Central Missouri ahead early. A sacrifice fly by Brumley provided insurance as Siebeneck pitched a shutout with seven strikeouts and allowed only three hits.

The Jennies are scheduled to finish their regular season at home against Emporia State on April 28.
