Central Missouri Jennies softball will conclude its regular season with two home doubleheaders, starting Saturday, April 25, against the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers and continuing Tuesday, April 28, against the Emporia State Hornets at Jennies Field in Warrensburg.

The upcoming games are significant as they mark Senior Day for the Jennies. After Saturday’s second game against Nebraska-Kearney, Central Missouri will honor nine seniors for their contributions to the program. The events also offer fans an opportunity to enjoy a UCM branded batting helmet filled with Cold Stone Creamery ice cream between games one and two on Saturday.

The Jennies currently hold a record of 31-15 overall and 12-8 in conference play. Head coach Susan Anderson is in her 20th season leading the team. She has achieved a record of 589-440 and is recognized as the second-winningest coach in program history. Anderson reached her milestone of 500 wins during Senior Day last year.

This season, Central Missouri returns seven position starters and three pitchers from last year’s squad that finished with a record of 30-19 overall. The team features six players batting above .300 this year: Kyrsten Moran (.382), Lexi Blackmon (.371), Bailey Brumley (.353), Marisa Johnson (.342), Taylor Thompson (.315), and Aly Hageman (.302). Thompson leads with sixteen home runs while Johnson has thirteen.

Saturday’s doubleheader will be the thirty-fifth and thirty-sixth all-time meetings between Central Missouri and Nebraska-Kearney; the Jennies have won four of their last six matchups against UNK. Tuesday’s games versus Emporia State mark their one hundred twelfth and one hundred thirteenth meetings, with Emporia holding a lead in series history but recent sweeps by visiting teams indicate competitive matchups ahead.

Both doubleheaders will be available via pay-per-view through the MIAA Network, with live statistics accessible online for those wishing to follow along remotely.
