The Central Missouri Jennies softball team was ranked No. 8 in the second NCAA Division II Central Regional Rankings, according to an April 29 release from the NCAA.
This ranking places the Jennies among six Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) teams featured in the latest regional standings. Pittsburg State holds the top spot, followed by Missouri Southern at number two and Central Oklahoma at number three. Rogers State is ranked sixth, while Emporia State rounds out MIAA representation at tenth.
The Central Region includes programs from three conferences: MIAA, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), and Great American Conference (GAC). NSIC’s Winona State is fifth and St. Cloud State is seventh in the rankings. From GAC, Southern Arkansas is fourth and Arkansas Tech is ninth.
Five teams from this region are also nationally recognized in the most recent National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll: Pittsburg State (tied for fourth), Southern Arkansas (tied for eighth), Missouri Southern (11th), Central Oklahoma (18th), and Winona State (21st).
The final regional rankings will be released on May 11 during the NCAA Division II Softball Selection Show on NCAA.com. The top eight teams will qualify for a berth to compete in the 2026 NCAA-II Softball Central Regional Tournament.
Currently, the Jennies are hosting Emporia State at South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg for their last regular season MIAA doubleheader.
